Matt and I went out to hunt with Clifford Neames of The Quail Shed in Central Illinois last week. This was not your typical outfitted hunt. Clifford gave us permission on a piece of ground that was far from his lodge to hunt, scout and hang our own sets. We loaded the StartCraft Pop-Up and headed to Shelby County. After almost a week of VERY close encounters with shooter bucks we had this nice 130″ 8 point come in, make a scrape, and quarter away from our set at a mere 15 yards! It was a very rewarding hunt by staying on the property we could hunt, hang our own stands, scout the deer and have it all pay off on the second to last day!
